Yes, the problem is that Xvfb has to be started with a particular
"screen" size, and if you move windows outside of that then things
will not work correctly. The old default was 2048x2048.

Since your email, the default size has been changed to 3840x1920 --
hopefully that's big enough for your setup?

The real solution, unfortunately, requires that someone implement the
XRANDR extension in Xvfb.
