Hey,
thought i'd throw in my $0.02. i've been trying on and off for the past few months to get xpra running under cygwin. just recently i finally got 0.0.5 and now 0.0.6 compiling under cygwin (with no code changes). however, actually running things is a different story.
first i tried running the server. this immediately failed because windows doesn't seem to like ":" in a file name, which the socket and server log file both use. is there any way we could get this switched out to a more friendly character? i looked into tweaking the DotXpra class, but it didn't look like a simple fix.
next, i tried just using a client to attach to a remote session on a linux box via ssh. it kinda, sorta seemed to attach (it said "attached"), but nothing much happened on the local display, and it periodically spewed various error messages, some of which seemed socket related. some of the recent fixes mentioned in other posts may help this situation.
anyway, would love to get this working. if there's anyway i could help, lemme know. i could try to collect the various error messages if interested. thanks muchly for the application, i'm very excited to get it working.
thanks,
-james
